In our new feature, ‘What’s in Your Closet?’, we explore the wardrobes of our favorite fashionistas. Up first we’ve got Rachel Lynch of I Hate Blonde who takes us on a tour of her closet and her chic Soho space. Photographed by Louise Palmberg.
“This dress is by Rat + Boa, which is this Australian designer that I really like. They have amazing imagery, and the girl who owns the brand–– it’s like her brain child. It’s very much an extension of her personal style, which I think is why I like it so much. The boots are Jeffrey Campbell from 2005 or 2006; I’ve had them almost since senior year of high school, but I bought two pairs. It’s the only shoe I’ve ever bought two pairs of… they’re just my favorite!”
“These are my absolute favorite bellbottoms. They’re from NastyGal–– they were like $20 or something, but I love them! The jacket is from Revolve by Nicole Richie’s line House of Harlow, and I’m a really big fan of it… bohemian, kind of like that Mary-Kate and Ashley 2003 aesthetic. The bodysuit is by her as well.”
“These are my favorite shoes, they’re by an LA designer. The brand is called Y R U. My friend Z runs the brand. These jeans are by Rag + Bone that I got at Intermix. This belt, I wear all the time, whenever I wear denim and it’s by NastyGal. The croptop is also by House of Harlow, and I really like that it has that 60s/70s vintage kind of vibe. All of my rings are by Verameat–– she’s my favorite ring designer, such a babe. Everything she does is either astral or based on history.”
“This is my favorite vintage band tee. It’s the Rolling Stones, obviously, and it’s from ‘What Comes Around, Goes Around’ on West Broadway. It’s one of the oldest vintage stores in the city, but it’s like high end vintage; beautifully curated. I was so excited when I found it!”
“These boots are my favorite thing I own. They’re by Miu Miu and they were made for the runway in 2016. They didn’t produce a lot of them but they sold some of them at their store, and when they were having a sale I had to have them. The denim is from Topshop, it’s so old that it’s soft now but I love their jeans. [The feathered piece] is by a brand that I work with called Yandy and they’re this cute lingerie brand, and I like stuff that looks costumey sometimes.”
“This shirt and jacket are both by The Lovers and Drifters Club, which is one of my favorite LA designers. They have a really cool Instagram and aesthetic, and I just love the whole way that they do their brand. The pants are Aritzia that I bought about a year ago, and the shoes are by a friend of mine who just started her own line: Charla Tedrick. This is her first collection of shoes!”
