Atlas Loves: The Raw 90’s

After the glamour of the 1980’s, fashion photography went from stories of fantasy to the everyday. This documentary-like approach celebrated the flaws that made people unique and coincided with the rise of reality television which allowed the audience to reflect on their day to day life. The 1990’s also saw the peak of the celebrity model, embodied by the likes of Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington and Linda Evangalista, as well as more prominent use of stars being used in fashion and beauty advertising such as Julia Roberts for Lancome.
