Alongside her editorial Second Skin, we did a quick 10 Questions with photographer Ivy Erlinger.
Tell us about yourself and where you’re from!
I was born in Munich along with my identical twin sister, and moved back and forth between Australia, the US and Germany!
How did you get into photography?
I grew up in the industry- my father is a fashion photographer and I had the fortunate ability to be homeschooled and travel from city to city with my parents.
What is the story behind this photoshoot?
My twin sister has always lived in denim, so she inspired the idea of denim being a “second skin”.
What does taking photos mean to you?
Taking photos keeps me sane. I thrive on chaos & having no routine so being a photographer helps me maintain my lack of a schedule 😉
Why did you choose to become a photographer, above all else?
I didn’t have a choice, there is nothing else I could ever imagine wanting to do besides taking photos!
Who or what is your main inspiration?
The Australian landscape. It never ceases to amaze.
If you could do a photoshoot anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Right here at home, out in the outback in the beautiful red earth.
That or the Sahara Desert.
What gear do you use?
Canon 5DMKIII and 70-200mm L series are my go to, but the 50mm is my favourite lens.
Who are your favourite photographers right now?
Sasha Samsonova and Nadia Von Scotti, two very different photographers that are always create such beautiful work
Where will you be in 10 years time?
Bouncing between Berlin & Sydney, working as a photographer.
